Military Endorsement “(Colonel Peter Cavanaugh) Woods” T41 $100 1862 PF-5 Cr. 315 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
This note contains perhaps the most unassuming military endorsement encountered, that of Colonel Peter Cavanaugh Woods, commanding officer of the 36th Texas Cavalry Regiment, who only signed as “Woods.” In addition, the note has a large format Jackson, MS Assistant Treasurer’s Office stamp issuing the note to the field on January 1, 1863 and a manuscript entry paying interest to January 1, 1864.
