A rare problem-free obsolete from Pensacola, PMG has graded 3 $3 notes from this Escambia County institution. Noticeably more scarce than the issue which Archimedes at center. Rated as an R-6 rarity in Ronald J. Benice’s book Florida Paper Money: An Illustrated History 1817 – 1934.
The $3 design incorporates a center vignette of Minerva holding a shield with a 3 on it, flanked by an identical vignette of Justice standing by a small portrait of Washington in each end panel. This design is scarce, with Benice estimating a surviving population of 13-30 notes.
