Description
Richmond, VA- Richmond Exchange- Jacob Ezekiel 5¢ Apr. 10, 1862 Jones-Littlefield PR60-700 PMG Very Fine 30. Extremely Rare!!!
Jacob Ezekiel is listed as a merchant in the 1860 Federal census and the note is redeemable in dry goods amongst other things. The 1866 City Directory shows this as the address of Ezekiel’s dry goods business. Unlike many surviving wartime issues, this is an attractive well printed note on bright paper with a vignette of Agriculture seated with produce and implements. This is the only note on this business that we have seen and is extremely rare. The paper has a very pretty light blue hue.
