Notes: This fully framed note was issued by James G.M. Ramsey who was serving as the depositary in Knoxville, TN when he issued this note to the field on November 18, 1862. He would go on to become a depositary in Atlanta after Knoxville was captured. His last post was as the Charlotte depositary. The note variety has a partial “T” just to the left of the center vignette and is printed on paper watermarked CSA in large scrip letters. In this case, the “T” was lightly printed. PMG mentions that the note is toned.
