Notes: This variety is printed on paper watermarked “J. Whatman / 1862”. It bears the military endorsement of James G. Paxton, Major & QM. It was issued to the field on January 30,1863. Reporting to General Albert Gallatin Jenkins, Paxton probably issued this note from winter quarters somewhere in the Shenandoah Valley. PMG mentions a pinhole that affects nothing. A lovely note with a great Military endorsement.
