Tallahassee, FL- Bank of Florida (at the Office of D.S. Kennedy, New York) $10 Aug. 1, 1843 G30a Benice 18A PMG Very Fine 25… Extremely Rare.
The point of payment for this note in New York is engraved on this variety which is signed by Booth and Rutgers. Curiously, the center vignette features the coat of arms of Connecticut flanked by Justice and, perhaps, Minerva at center. An oval male portrait is at right. Like many notes from this series, this note is hammer cancelled and also has a few pinholes. Benice estimates a surviving population of between 4 and 12 notes for this note type.
