The outbreak of hostilities in 1861 caused the bank (and almost all others) to suspend specie payments and the bank issued certificates of deposit dated July 1, 1862 which were redeemable in either Florida state notes or Confederate Treasury Notes. The note has three boardwalk margins, with PMG only mentioning some trivial rust specks.
