Obsolete Currency…Toledo, OH- J.V. Montgomery & Co. 50¢ Tiffany Commission Scrip ND (ca. 1873-74) Wolka UNL PMG Very Fine 30.. This was a previously unknown Tiffany Commission Scrip note and issuer before 2020. …..J. V. Montgomery was a dealer in stoves, tin ware, cutlery, and housekeeping goods located at 265 Summit Street in Toledo. The scrip was good for 50¢ off of a $6 purchase. This was a bit different than many other commission scrip terms in that the discount was 8.33% and sales could apparently be either cash or credit. The sales message and details on the back are in both English and German. At present we believe this note is unique.
